Clare grew up in Evanston, but still tells people she’s “from Chicago.” She fled the cold Illinois winters to study psychology, French, and Japanese at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. After graduating, she worked in early childhood education at a French and Spanish immersion daycare.
She then moved to South Korea to teach English (which was not at all influenced by her strong interest in K-pop) to try her hand at “real” teaching. Her time in South Korea was challenging and very rewarding. Now that she has returned home, she is looking forward to using the research and people skills she gained from teaching in her research & recruitment role at Ellevate.
In her free time, Clare enjoys playing video games, crocheting and volunteering at her local animal shelter.
